Overview
Policy Officer, Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. Permanent, full-time role based at Headquarters, Huntingdon with homeworking options. Salary: £35,526. 37 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Work with policing, statutory partners and the voluntary sector to prevent crime, reduce re-offending, and improve community safety locally.
- Provide policy support across the Commissioner's office, including community safety, criminal justice and independent scrutiny.
- Coordinate the Commissioner’s Countywide High Harms Board and support delivery of the Police and Crime Plan and other statutory duties (e.g., Serious Violence Duty and the national From Harm to Hope drugs strategy).
- Collaborate with colleagues across local partnerships to coordinate local crime prevention activity and share good practice nationally; research new legislation or national guidance to assess implications for the Office.

- Translate legislation and guidance into local practice and policy positions.
- Work professionally with a range of organisations and stakeholders at all levels across the local partnership; identify opportunities for change and turn plans into action.
