Responsibilities
- An opportunity has arisen for an Experienced Scheduler / Planner to join the team at Galliford Try within our Digital Infrastructure Business, focusing on the following strategic market sectors: Wireless & Fixed Line Telecoms Network Infrastructure, Defence Telecoms, Renewable Solutions/EV charging stations.
- Report to the Strategic Development Manager; work as part of the wider pre-construction and operational teams developing detailed tender, pre-construction and construction phase programmes for design and build projects and programmes.
- Plan, develop and implement integrated design and build contracts; liaise with cross-functional teams with diverse technical backgrounds. There will be a pre-construction emphasis and support tender submissions with programmes tailored to strengthen bid credibility. Accept and take responsibility for all planning tasks and outcomes across project phases. Apply a collaborative approach to meet project requirements.
- Experience in Microsoft Project and Primavera planning software.
- Liaison and interface with team members to produce initial and updated contract programmes for acceptance/approval.
- Production of resource loaded programmes to identify sequencing, critical paths, float and combined financial data for Earned Value Management (if required).
- Weekly input into management activities to ensure outcomes are planned for and achieved.
- Monthly reporting for internal and external reviews and discussions via meetings.
- Previous experience on the NEC suite of contracts.
- Previous experience on Defence, Telecoms and EV charging/renewable energy infrastructure projects preferred (but not essential).
- Security clearance to SC level preferred (but not essential).
- Ability to demonstrate confidence to communicate ideas; excellent use of the English language and writing skills.
- A drive for continuous improvement and a customer-focused approach; a strategic thinker with problem-solving ability.
- Construction background and ability to understand technical and commercial information; commercial awareness of programme impacts on cost, risk, and overall project strategy.
- Ability to communicate effectively with technically oriented people, including presenting programme options professionally to clients and internal leadership.
- Willingness to support the team and others as a team player with a strong work ethic.
- Flexibility to meet fluctuating workloads and tight deadlines, including non-standard work hours when required.
- IT literacy including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat and InDesign.
