Job description

Job title: Pipefitter Welder

Location: Gateshead

Hourly rate: £38,670.94 per annum

Shifts: 39 hours per week - Monday to Thursday, 07:00-16:00 & Friday, 07:00-12:00

As a Pipefitter Welder, you'll play a key role in maintaining and installing industrial pipe systems across a large production facility. The role involves both pipefitting and welding duties, working with a range of materials and technical drawings to ensure reliable plant operation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Performing pipefitting, fabrication, and installation of industrial pipe systems.
  • Welding using TIG and MIG methods on carbon steel, stainless steel, and galvanised pipework.
  • Reading and interpreting engineering and isometric drawings to fabricate, cut, and fit accurately.
  • Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on mechanical and pipework systems.
  • Isolating, dismantling, and removing redundant or damaged pipework safely.
  • Supporting maintenance technicians and apprentices within the team.
  • Ensuring all work complies with health, safety, and engineering standards.
  • Working collaboratively with engineering and production teams to reduce downtime.
