Job summary

A healthcare practice in England is seeking a part-time Phlebotomist/Practice Assistant to join their multidisciplinary nursing team. Job description

Whinfield Medical Practice are looking for a part time Phlebotomist/Practice Assistant Assistant (30.5 hours) to join our patient focused and multi skilled nursing team:

Working Hours 30.5 hours per week worked over 4 days

The post holder is expected to contribute to Enhanced Access cover:

  • Monday 8am - 4pm
  • Tuesday 8am- 4pm
  • Friday 8am - 4pm

Previous working experience as a Phlebotomist is essential. Knowledge of SystmOne is desirable.

The ability to work independently and prioritise your workload is required. Good interpersonal communication and organisational skills are essential.

We are a large busy practice within over 12000 patients and8 GPs .

Job responsibilities

Job Summary:

  • To assist medical personnel in the care of practice patients to include venepuncture, screening and investigatory procedures. The post will also include some administrative duties.
  • act as a focal point of communication between patients, doctors, nurses and other members of the primary health care team

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Urinalysis
  • ECGs
  • Weight and height recording
  • Chaperoning
  • Processing and management of laboratory samples requested by GPs/Nurses
  • Restocking/maintenance of equipment
  • Restocking and maintenance of clinical areas and consulting rooms
  • Record smoking status and brief intervention

  • Experience in venepuncture.
