A supportive care service provider is looking for a part-time caregiver to assist a cheerful individual with disabilities in Wareham. The role involves personal care, meal preparation, and providing companionship. The ideal candidate should have good communication skills, reliability, and a driving license for a manual car. Shifts are afternoons into early evenings, with pay set at £12.50 per hour.
A Newly Available Part Time Role working alongside experienced team members to help provide support and care to a cheerful 55-year-old man, who lives in his own home. He has mild learning difficulties, Cerebral Palsy (from birth) and MS since 2012. MS has accelerated the deterioration of the various symptoms he had with the CP. For example, from being quite active - 13 years ago he had just returned from yet another skiing holiday - he is now predominantly chair bound. He is still very social, has a great sense of humour and can be a lot of fun, but is inevitably frustrated by his current condition and keeping him cheerful is an important part of the job. You will become part of a dedicated and professional team who together provide 24/7 care. All training will be given to the successful applicant.
The newly available shifts are afternoon into early evening seven days a week, each of four and a half hours. We anticipate these shifts being split, so we are looking for someone to take on four or five shifts each week including at least one of the weekend slots. There will be opportunities for other hours covering holidays and absences of other team members, and the possibility of the role extending if that is of interest.
Hours: 3.30pm – 8pm – four or five of seven available shifts a week.
Pay: £12.50 per hour
Job Type: Part time, doubled up alongside a full time experienced team member.
You must be able to prove your right to work in the UK. No sponsorship is available.
