A supportive secondary school in Derby is seeking a committed Pastoral Officer (Non‑Teaching Head of Year) to join their pastoral team on a full‑time, temp or temp‑to‑perm basis.

This is a key pastoral role working closely with a specific year group, focusing on behaviour, attendance, wellbeing and day‑to‑day support — no teaching responsibilities.

About the Role
  • Acting as the non‑teaching Head of Year for a designated year group
  • Providing daily pastoral support, guidance and behaviour intervention
  • Managing student behaviour, attendance and punctuality
  • Building strong relationships with students to support wellbeing
  • Running restorative conversations and conflict resolution
  • Liaising with families, teaching staff and external agencies
  • Supporting safeguarding procedures in line with school policy
