Job summary

A dedicated educational organization is seeking a part-time Functional Skills Tutor to support post-16 learners in Greater London. The role involves delivering tailored lessons in English and/or Maths, supporting learners from Entry Level 3 to Level 2, and monitoring their progress. The ideal candidate should have a teaching qualification and experience working with post-16 learners. This position offers flexible working hours and is based in Bromley, with a pay rate of £25 per hour.

Qualifications

• Teaching qualification (QTS, QTLS, PGCE or equivalent) or relevant Functional Skills teaching experience.
• Experience delivering Functional Skills English and/or Maths (Entry Level 3 to Level 2).
• Experience working with post-16 learners.
• SEN and/or SEMH experience desirable.
• Up-to-date Safeguarding training (desirable but not essential).

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and supportive lessons in English and/or Maths.
• Plan and deliver tailored sessions that build confidence and develop core skills.
• Monitor learner progress and provide ongoing support.
• Work in flexible settings, including small-group or 1:1 support.
