Job summary

A global scientific solutions provider in Southampton is seeking an experienced Engineer for a site-based role. Responsibilities include servicing Chromatography and Mass Spec instruments, performing equipment qualification, and training staff. Job description

Our client is a global provider of scientific solutions, helping laboratories around the world enable advancements in many areas such as pharmaceutical, food, environmental and healthcare. To ensure the efficiency of their operations, they are seeking an experienced Engineer to be based onsite at their client's facility in Southampton.

Responsibilities
  • Servicing and maintaining Chromatography and Mass Spec instruments from a range of vendors
  • Performing instrument qualification (IQ, OQ, and PQ) to comply with industry standards (GMP, ISO17025, GxP)
  • Providing training to other scientific staff and customers on the utilisation of equipment
  • Diagnosing faults on complex scientific equipment ensuring prompt, flexible and customer focused support
  • Managing equipment parts and spare parts
Qualifications
  • NVQ 3 in engineering or equivalent
  • Previous experience servicing complex scientific instrumentation (Chromatography, Mass Spectrometry, Automation) from a range of instrument vendors
  • Experience working within a Pharmaceutical setting and knowledge of GMP requirements
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team
