Job description

Our client, based in London, is seeking a qualified Veterinarian to undertake Official Veterinarian duties on behalf of APHA when required, including Export Certification for international trade in Products of Animal Origin (POAO).

Responsibilities

The role is responsible for implementing veterinary border controls for POAOs and making decisions on the outcomes of those controls. You will enforce relevant legislation to prevent the importation of non-compliant food or feed consignments, and provide professional advice, inspections, and proportionate enforcement action across a wide range of Port Health functions in line with the Port Health Service Business Plan.

Qualifications

To be considered, you must hold a BSc or MSc in Veterinary Medicine, be registered with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, and hold a qualification as a Portal Official Veterinarian. A full job description is available upon request.
