About the Role

Academic Registry is a central professional service at the heart of university life. You're tasked with delivering core academic quality assurance and standards activities, working closely with colleagues across the University to advise on internal and external regulatory requirements. Your contributions will support strategic projects, committee work, and policy development, ensuring processes are clear, effective, and student‑ and staff‑friendly. You will make evidence‑based recommendations and commit to seeing change through from idea to implementation, with an initial focus on course approval and course change.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert guidance to academic, administrative, and professional service colleagues on quality assurance and academic standards.
  • Contribute to strategic and operational projects and cyclical education processes.
  • Deliver high‑level secretariat support for university committees and working groups.
  • Produce clear, accessible reports and documentation to support internal decision‑making and meet external requirements.
  • Create staff‑ and student‑facing information that demystifies policy and process.
About You
  • Familiar with the regulatory landscape and key considerations in UK higher education.
  • Collaborative and consultative approach, motivated by continuous improvement and meaningful impact.
  • Confident in making evidence‑based recommendations and decisions, seeing them through from idea to implementation and monitoring.
  • Passionate about providing excellent support to colleagues across the University, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organisational and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage projects and deliver outcomes independently.
  • Confidence in working with data and producing clear, insightful reports.
  • Experience in higher education administration, ideally including committee support.
  • Proactive approach to learning and applying new concepts and systems.
