Occupational Therapist - Fixed Term Contract

This is a maternity cover opportunity within a specialist educational setting that caters to students aged 7–16 following a mainstream curriculum. The role is focused on helping students develop skills necessary for daily school functioning , particularly those related to fine motor and sensory processing. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Therapies Core Purpose

  • To support pupils' ability to participate fully in academic and social activities.
  • To assess, plan, implement, and evaluate support plans, including those detailed in Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
  • To liaise with the student's family, the SEN department, and teaching staff to ensure comprehensive support

Essential Skills & Qualities

  • Love of working with young people is essential.
  • Good verbal communication and writing skills.
  • Good observation, problem-solving, and quick decision-making skills.
  • Creative skills to design multiple graded activities from a single object or game.
  • Confidence to liaise with multi-team professionals.
