We are looking for a Facilitator to join our Psychological Services team at HMP Fosse Way, a Category C male rehabilitation prison in Leicester.

Are you passionate about rehabilitation and positive change? Do you have experience in group facilitation or working with challenging client groups?

We are seeking a committed individual to deliver Offending Behaviour Programmes (OBP).

What you’ll be doing:
  • Deliver accredited programmes such as the Thinking Skills Programme (TSP) and others as per the establishment’s delivery plan.
  • Complete all pre and post session work associated with programme delivery.
  • Attend regular supervision with the Treatment Manager.
  • Assess prisoners for the programmes offered on site.
  • Write post-programme reports detailing progress and further work for both completers and non-completers.
  • Handle administrative tasks like processing referrals, updating waiting lists, photocopying materials, and communicating with prison staff and external agencies.
  • Attend and pass mandatory training.
  • Conduct motivational work and assessments prior to programme commencement.
  • Prepare objectives and follow-up work, providing additional support as needed.
  • Contribute to sentence planning and parole processes for participants.
What you’ll need to succeed:

Experience:

  • Facilitating group work and working with challenging client groups.
  • Experience in a forensic setting.
  • Delivering psychological interventions.
  • Implementing accredited offending behaviour programmes in custody or the community.

Knowledge:

  • Understanding of psychological theories related to offending.
  • Knowledge of 'what works' literature on reducing reoffending.
  • Theories related to violent and sexual offending.
  • Awareness of responsivity and diversity issues when working with offenders.
  • Motivational techniques.

Skills:

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to motivate resistant individuals.
  • Teamwork skills.
  • Good organisational skills to manage workload.
  • Ability to challenge antisocial attitudes appropriately.
Additional notes:

Programme facilitators must complete mandatory training, passing all required modules. If deemed 'Not Ready' after training, a second attempt may be allowed. Repeated unsuitability may lead to contract termination.

What else do I need to know:
  • This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, and employment is subject to security clearance and references.
  • This position is not eligible for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship under current UK rules.
  • Applicants should have at least two years remaining on their current visa and have resided in the UK for at least one year.
