Contract: Full Time and Part Time Salary: £13.60 Per Hour Shift Type: Nights Contracted hours: Full Time and Part Time

Located in the heart of the Greenlaw Mains community, Glencorse Care Home is a brand-new, purpose-built luxury care home opening soon. With 54 beautifully designed en suite bedrooms, it will offer exceptional Residential, Dementia, Nursing, and Respite care in a warm and welcoming setting.

We are now recruiting experienced and passionate Senior Care Assistants to join our commissioning team. This is a unique opportunity to help shape the culture of a brand-new home from day one — leading by example and delivering exceptional care in a modern, supportive environment.

What You Will Do As a Senior Care Assistant, you will play a vital leadership role within our care team, ensuring residents receive the highest standard of care and support, while making sure staff feel confident, informed and valued during each shift. You will lead and coordinate shifts, setting the tone and supporting your team to deliver excellent care. You will provide hands-on personal care with dignity, compassion and respect, administer and manage medication in line with care plans and protocols, and maintain accurate records. Effective communication with residents, families, healthcare professionals and colleagues will be key to your role, as will supporting and mentoring junior care staff to promote a positive and inclusive team culture. You will also be responsible for writing and updating care plans, risk assessments and other documentation, responding calmly and promptly to emergencies, and welcoming visitors and prospective families, showing them around the home’s facilities.

What We’re Looking For

  • A minimum of SVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care is essential
  • SVQ Level 3 (or working towards it) is highly desirable
  • Medication administration training with up-to-date competencies is required
  • Experience in a senior care role within a residential or nursing home setting
  • Strong leadership and teamwork skills, with the ability to delegate and mentor others
  • A warm, compassionate personality with a genuine commitment to person-centred care
