Overview
Would you like to join an ambitious procurement organisation supporting our Category Work streams and our customer team with the development and implementation of their future strategies and targets for the benefit of our members? This role requires you to lead sourcing strategies across multiple work streams, contribute to the development of Category Strategies and provide expert advice both internally and externally to our customers on the most appropriate compliant route to market.
Responsibilities
- Support and develop Tender activity via the Atamis portal as directed by the Procurement Assistant Director, working with NHS LPP Members and internal Category Teams.
- Maintain overall understanding of NHS LPP Member spend using a variety of data sources including benchmarking and supplier management information, to establish a detailed knowledge of Member expenditure by Supplier & Commodity.
- Identify saving opportunities from spend and supplier management information and dialogue with NHS LPP Members as agreed with the Procurement Associate Director.
- Evaluate supplier applications to Dynamic Purchasing Systems (DPS) via the Atamis e-tendering portal as regulated by procurement law.
- Ensure ongoing supplier compliance with DPS terms and liaise with NHS LPP members, providing regular up to date supplier lists and answering related queries.
- Support Tender and supplier contracting initiatives as directed by the Procurement Assistant Director such as the procurement of, or from Frameworks and Dynamic Purchasing Systems (DPS).
- Support the development and delivery of sourcing strategies for NHS LPP Member non-pay spend.
- Use specialist analytical techniques and software to support the delivery of year-on-year cash and cost avoidance savings.
- Maintain a working understanding of UK and EU Procurement Law, obtained by experience or equivalent training.
Qualifications & Skills
Experience
- Educated to Post-graduate level or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience
- Good standard of numeracy and literacy
- Previous procurement experience or training
Desirable
- Evidence of CIPS qualification and progress towards professional chartered status
Skills
- Excellent administration & organisational skills.
- Analytical competence and problem solving
- Ability to use eProcurement systems

- Experience of sourcing including tender process from initial scoping to contract award

- Frequent requirement for concentration levels required routinely, with intense concentration to meet directives, significant strategy targets, production of policy and implementation plans etc
