Qualifications

About the role

DNV - Area North China is part of the Maritime Region Greater China and consists of more than 170 employees across 4 stations. Services delivered are related to ship classification of vessels and offshore units as well as certification of material and components.

Station Qingdao NB & CMC is part of Area North and is looking for experienced Newbuilding Surveyors, who’re going to work for projects covered by station.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform new building surveys on ships according to rules and regulations.
  • Ensure smooth execution of projects in collaboration with the PM and peers on-site.
  • Proactive and smooth communication with the shipyard and owner’s representatives.
  • Certification and verification of materials and components underclass and non-class related systems and processes.
  • Manage a group of customers and interact with colleagues from all over the world to follow up on their needs.
  • Be the advisor of our customers to guide them in the regulatory landscape of the maritime industry and support their development.
  • Conduct all activities in a safe manner with due regard to your own safety and the safety of others.

Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Automation, Electrical, or other relevant field of engineering.
  • Professionals with 3 to 10 years of maritime industry, preferably in design office, shipyard or technical superintendent. Experiences as Class Surveyor or owner site representative will be considered as an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and in writing in English.
