Qualifications

  • C&G Electrical/Mechanical qualification or ability to work towards.
  • Completed or working towards apprenticeship in electrical/mechanical engineering.
  • Qualified to at least 18th Edition or willing to undertake.

Role overview

Location: South London, Kent, Surrey.

Salary: £36000 DOE + Company benefits, Van, Fuel Card, Overtime and On call available.

Working hours: 7:30-16:00 or 8:00-17:00 Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for site mechanical and electrical assets, ensuring they are maintained and repaired to the appropriate statutory, regulatory, and client standards.
  • Ensure reporting of any equipment or performance issues to your supervisor and the TW Helpdesk.
  • Assist in the preparation of estimates/quotations as required.
  • Willing to assist with works outside normal skill set as/if required.
  • Work across multiple projects and minor works as requested.
  • Hold responsibility for allocated work orders from receipt to completion.
  • Understand Low Voltage systems including Prime Movers and UPS.
  • Work towards or hold Competent Person Status for Electrical and Confined Spaces.
  • Good understanding of water and plumbing systems and able to perform maintenance and breakdown work on these.
  • Willing to undertake company standard internal training workshops and work to EMCOR and Thames Water standards.
  • Provide information on progress of work orders.
  • Adhere to all current company procedures and Quality Management System.
  • Develop relationships with clients and potential new customers, working within a site team of field and office staff.
  • Ensure continuous improvement and value for money.
  • Willing to work in secure and sensitive environments across the Thames Water estate.
  • Behave consistently in line with EMCOR UK’s values.
  • Be organised and proactive, prioritising workload.
  • Complete any other reasonable requests from management.

HSW

  • Comply with EMCOR UK’s Health, Safety, and Wellbeing policies and procedures.
  • Use Intelex accurately to report near misses or accidents and ensure actions are closed out promptly.
  • Review RAMS from subcontractors to ensure standards are maintained.
  • Ensure compliance with EMCOR UK RAMS and Thames Water procedures.
  • Maintain compliance with asbestos management processes and procedures.

About the role

  • C&G Electrical/Mechanical qualification or ability to work towards.
  • Completed or working towards apprenticeship in electrical/mechanical engineering.
  • Qualified to at least 18th Edition or willing to undertake.
  • C&G 2391-10 Inspection & Testing - Preferred.
  • Thames Water Passport – Gain and maintain.
  • Competent Person – Low Voltage and Confined Spaces – Preferred.
  • Trained Person status – Hot and cold water systems – Preferred.
  • Experience with LV distribution systems – Preferred.
  • Experience with standby power systems including prime movers and UPS.
  • Experience with safe working practices and permit to work systems.
  • Effective communication skills and flexible work approach.
