Overview

Bedfordshire CAMHS Adolescent Mental Health Team (AMHT) is seeking a Senior Mental Health Practitioner (Band 7) for a fixed-term position of 6 months, 37.5 hours per week. The post is based in Bedford, Bedfordshire, with some travel to facilitate outreach support at home or other CAMHS/multi-agency sites.

Responsibilities
  • Undertake therapeutic intervention in accordance with professional background and training.
  • Caseload management and care co-ordination.
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team; every case has a minimum of two practitioners working together.
  • Engage in multi-agency collaboration and liaise with the network around the child/young person and their family/carers.
  • Contribute to flexible clinic-based and assertive outreach interventions; focus on therapeutic engagement, strengths-based practice, and liaison with partner organisations.
  • Participate in regular clinical and management supervision; opportunities to attend CPD sessions and weekly clinical discussions with the team.
  • Support staff well-being and flexible working patterns within the team structure.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Senior Mental Health Practitioner (Band 7) with experience in CAMHS Adolescent Mental Health Team (AMHT) settings or multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Ability to provide therapeutic intervention and manage a caseload with complex needs.
  • Interest in multi-agency collaboration and working with families/carers.
  • Willingness to travel for outreach work; some travel to CAMHS/multi-agency sites is required.
  • Commitment to team-based working and maintaining engaging client relationships; alignment with values of care, respect, and inclusivity.
