Job summary

Overview

To provide a first class, comprehensive secretarial service to a large team of local Consultant Medical Staff and to facilitate effective communication between medical teams at the South East Wales centre.

To actively participate in the planning and implementation of all reading and assessment clinics held at the South East Wales Breast Screening Centre in Cardiff. Providing non clinical advice and information over the telephone, in Welsh or English, to service user, their families or carers.

Responsibilities
  • Provide a comprehensive secretarial service to the local clinical team.
  • Plan and support the assessment pathway, including processing assessment clinics, typing clinic letters, recording clinical data and creating electronic treatment referrals.
  • Typing, audio and copy typing with a keen eye for detail; ensure accurate and timely communication.
  • Provide non-clinical advice and information over the telephone, in Welsh or English, to service users, their families or carers.
Requirements / Qualifications
  • The successful candidate must demonstrate a keen eye for detail, have excellent written and oral communication skills, and high level organisational skills.
  • Accurate audio and copy typing skills.
  • The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
