Overview

Mechanical Project Manager required for an award-winning HVAC company with regional offices throughout the UK. Due to growth in the project division, our client is seeking a Mechanical Project Manager to join their expanding Projects division.

The Mechanical Project Manager will manage projects from inception to handover, including site visits, surveys, designs, estimations and quotations, negotiating and purchasing materials, supervising labour, commissioning, client training and O&M documentation. The role ensures projects are delivered within budget and on time. The Mechanical Project Manager will oversee a team of at least 2 direct PAYE Installation Engineers plus additional sub-contractors.

Role location: based out of the client’s office in Kent, with a balance of remote working (50% home/office and 50% site based).

Responsibilities
  • Manage projects from inception to handover, including site visits, surveys, designs, estimations and quotations.
  • Negotiate and purchase materials; supervise labour; commission systems; provide client training and develop O&M documentation.
  • Ensure project delivery within budget and on time.
  • Lead and manage a team including at least 2 direct PAYE Installation Engineers and additional sub-contractors.
Position Requirements
  • Experience project managing AHUs, VRV/VRF, ducting, boiler and chiller replacements & upgrades.
  • Hands-on practical experience is advantageous; technical mastery, strong communication skills and autonomy are equally important.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience with responsibility for running projects and managing a team of engineers who report directly to the candidate.
  • Computer literate; proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and MS Projects.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines; strong commercial awareness.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; good attention to detail; contract negotiation.
  • Live in the Northern Home Counties (Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Essex, Northamptonshire, etc.).
Remuneration
  • Basic Salary £65,000 - £75,000 DOE
