Job description
Overview

Our client, a leading provider of comprehensive mechanical and electrical services, is seeking a Mobile Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join their operations team based in Derby, UK. This permanent, full-time role offers an exciting opportunity to work in the data centre sector.

Responsibilities
  • Carrying out a wide range of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks in line with industry standards such as SFG20
  • Conducting routine daily, weekly, and monthly system checks and completing all necessary documentation and reports for each task
  • Providing clear and effective communication with on-site engineering teams and preparing weekly reports for the Facilities Management (FM) supervisor
  • Maintaining all mechanical and electrical plant services to the highest industry standards
  • Supervising the work of external contractors, ensuring all activities are compliant with risk assessments, method statements, and health and safety permits
  • Maintaining all statutory engineering maintenance records and ensuring they are readily available for audits
  • Responding to and completing client service requests in a timely manner to meet agreed service level agreements (SLAs)
  • Playing a key role in the out-of-hours call-out rota for the site
Job Requirements
  • An Advanced Level 3 NVQ in Mechanical Engineering, Plumbing, or HVAC (or a similar equivalent qualification)
  • A Full UK Driving Licence
  • Demonstrable experience in commercial mechanical maintenance, ideally within a critical environment such as a data centre or clean room
  • Strong technical knowledge and practical experience with a range of mechanical systems, including HVAC, boilers, pumps, and control systems (e.g., BMS and BeMS)
  • Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills to quickly identify and resolve issues
  • The ability to work independently, manage your own workload, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Proficiency in using a computer and Microsoft Office applications
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • IOSH - Managing Safely qualification
Desirable Qualifications
  • City & Guilds F-GAS and ODS Regulations (2079)
  • IPAF, PASMA, or other relevant access qualifications
