Job summary

A leading engineering firm is seeking a skilled individual to support the Foundry Works team. The role involves reporting on plant breakdowns, assisting with analyses, and maintaining equipment. The ideal candidate should be proactive in team settings, support apprentices in their development, and have flexibility for training and occasional extra hours. This position ensures continuous improvement in plant uptime and the completion of ongoing projects.

Responsibilities

• Report directly to the foundry Works Engineer whilst being integrated into a team of fully skilled engineers.
• Report to breakdowns as a priority to ensure plant uptime is kept at a premium.
• Assist in the analysis of breakdowns to establish route courses along with implementing corrective action.
• Contribute towards TPM system proactive checks being completed on time.
• Overhaul, repair, and refurbish parts and equipment in the maintenance workshop outside of breakdowns and TPMs.
• Fulfill parts requisitions on the completion of work to ensure stock levels are retained hence minimizing downtime.
• Assist with ongoing project work e.g. new equipment installation/factory improvements.
• Nurture and assist apprentices by passing on valuable skills and knowledge.
• Liaise with colleagues on different shift patterns handing over work and reporting any issues.
• Undertake training requests internally or externally to improve performance and capabilities.
• Work outside of shift pattern when cover is required.
