Overview

This is a rare entry‑level role, providing a fantastic opportunity for those interested in launching a career in marketing. Gain hands on experience and develop commercial marketing skills in this part‑time role in a fast‑paced and creative working environment.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in major promotional campaigns for the museum focused on driving income and raising awareness of the collections, galleries, temporary exhibitions, curator talks, kids’ activities and memberships.
  • Manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Help with membership administrative tasks, update copy on web pages and online listings, and research ideas for social media content.
  • Create posters, digital screen ads and social media posts to support campaigns using design software such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Produce and edit video content filmed on mobile and other devices for socials (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn).
Qualifications

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an eye for detail. Positive, proactive and “can‑do” attitude. Eager to learn new skills and make a meaningful impact in a collaborative centralised marketing team.

Hours and Availability

29.6 hours per week (Monday to Friday). Occasional weekend and evening work such as filming at events for social media content. Hybrid working between the Civic Centre in Duke Street and the Museum of Chelmsford.
