As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be at the heart of developing, optimising, and maintaining efficient manufacturing processes that ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and operational excellence. You will lead projects from concept through to implementation, collaborating with cross-functional teams across Production, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain. With a strong focus on continuous improvement, lean methodologies, and innovation, this role offers you the chance to make a tangible impact on both performance and profitability.

Reporting directly to the Quality and Technical Manager, you will be entrusted with driving forward manufacturing solutions, standardising instructions, and ensuring our processes are aligned with best practice and industry innovation.

Key Accountabilities
  • Develop and deliver efficient manufacturing solutions for a wide range of products.
  • Standardise and control all manufacturing instructions to ensure conformity and efficiency.
  • Ensure machine capability, correct tooling, and fixtures are in place to support production.
  • Manage and deliver manufacturing projects to agreed timelines.
  • Drive continuous improvement in quality, safety, and efficiency.
Responsibilities
  • Take capital projects from concept through to commissioning.
  • Evaluate and enhance manufacturing processes using research, data, and supplier collaboration.
  • Analyse workflows and implement process improvements to maximise productivity.
  • Lead and support the implementation of lean practices, 5S, and TPM.
  • Conduct and participate in PFMEAs to mitigate risks and improve reliability.
  • Provide technical leadership, coaching, and training to support continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with Purchasing to manage external contractors and equipment suppliers.
  • Review NCR data, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Support new product introductions and contract reviews with robust manufacturing solutions.
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong communicator, able to influence and motivate colleagues across the business.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a critical eye for detail.
  • Proven ability to train and guide others in lean and root cause analysis techniques.
  • Highly organised, with strong time management and prioritisation skills.
  • Flexible, self-motivated, and tenacious - with a high-quality ethic.
  • Proficient in MS Office, with the ability to interpret engineering drawings.
  • A natural team player who can delegate effectively and coach others to succeed.
Experience & Qualifications
  • HNC/HND (or higher) in an engineering discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in an engineering/manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO9001 Quality Systems.
  • Experience leading lean projects and root cause analysis activities.
  • Track record of delivering successful manufacturing projects.

This is an exciting opportunity for a forward-thinking engineer who thrives in a dynamic, lean-focused environment. If you are ready to bring fresh ideas, technical expertise, and a drive for continuous improvement, we would love to hear from you.
