About This Opportunity

At Lloyds Banking Group we’re driven by a clear purpose: to ‘Help Britain Prosper’. Our Regulatory Controls team in the Chief Controls Office (CCO) in Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB) investigates regulatory developments, assesses their impacts on CIB’s control environment and identifies control solutions to ensure continued adherence with regulatory requirements.

We are seeking a regulatory subject‑matter expert who will ensure CIB remains aware of regulatory requirements, facilitate the effective and efficient operation of controls relied on by regulations, and be involved in projects with regulatory considerations as CIB implements the Group’s strategy to grow, focus and change at pace.

What You’ll Do
  • Use regulatory expertise to support management in providing responses to regulatory enquiries, responses and examinations
  • Provide support and guidance to CIB colleagues in response to regulatory queries
  • Build and maintain a cross‑functional network to support and coordinate applicable regulatory controls
  • Assess the applicability of Horizon Scanning activities for CIB through a control perspective
  • Provide support to Product, Risk and Control Owners relating to regulatory mapping of controls within Risk Open Pages
  • Maintain a Regulatory SharePoint and build regulatory controls MI and trigger outputs, using Power BI dashboards
  • Support wider CIB ad hoc projects when required to provide Regulatory Control inputs
  • Deputise for management at relevant meetings and liaise with Risk Specialists regarding any regulatory developments, changes or enquiries
What We’re Looking For

A driven, independent individual with a passion for understanding regulatory texts and their applicability to CIB.

Required Skills
  • Strong regulatory expertise pertaining to our CIB business (e.g. Ringfencing, MiFID, MAR, Dodd‑Frank)
  • Analytical and interpretive ability – identify relevant regulatory developments of UK, EU and US regulators as they apply to CIB
  • Build effective working relationships with key contacts across CIB and other business functions (e.g. BCB, GCOO, Consumer Relationships)
  • Good technical knowledge of using external regulator web pages (e.g. FCA and PRA)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication – disseminate often technical information effectively
  • Ability to prioritise and multi‑task, sometimes delivering under tight timeframes
  • A strategic mindset, curiosity to automate and simplify controls
Desirable Skills
  • Organisational awareness – understanding the CIB businesses is advantageous
  • Awareness and involvement with industry association in previous roles
