Qualifications

Oaklands College is looking for a Management Accountant to join our Finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a central role in ensuring financial transparency accuracy and compliance helping us deliver outstanding education while maintaining strong financial discipline.

As a key member of the Finance Department you’ll support the Financial Controller and Deputy Finance Director in preparing management accounts maintaining financial systems and providing insightful reporting that shapes decision-making across the College and its subsidiaries.

Your Day-to-Day Impact

No two days will be the same but you can expect to :

  • Prepare monthly management accounts for the College subsidiaries and joint ventures.
  • Reconcile key control accounts credit card accounts and balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Maintain and update the Fixed Asset register including monthly depreciation.
  • Prepare quarterly VAT returns and other statutory tax submissions within deadlines.
  • Support budget holders with financial guidance helping them understand and manage their budgets effectively.
  • Contribute to financial reports and analysis that inform decision-making at senior level.
  • Support the bursary payment process and oversee supplier and staff setup on the finance system.
  • Provide advice and cover for Finance Assistants supporting teamwork and continuity during peak periods.
  • Deputise for the Financial Controller when required.

  • A recognised professional accountancy qualification.
  • At least 2 years relevant post-qualification experience.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office especially Excel.
