Job description

Overview

Maintenance Technician – Chelsea – £40K - £45K. Permanent, days. This role involves supporting the Household and family with their prestigious residential home, managing the plant room and addressing issues within the household such as changing light bulbs, controlling the BMS, and HVAC systems. The family also owns five rental properties in London, and you will ensure they are maintained to a high standard and be on call to assist in an emergency.

Responsibilities

• Planned preventative maintenance and management of all properties.
• First line fix; if not achievable, contact a specialist contractor from an approved list.
• Repairs to all building fabric.
• Maintenance of BMS, lighting and AV systems.
• Ensure that all statutory building compliance and certification is updated.
• Attend to blockages, leaks, breakdowns and failures related to plumbing and heating systems and ensure ongoing functionality.
• Ensure swimming pools and garden ponds are maintained and cleaned, including chemical checks.
• Respond quickly in the event of an emergency, notify appropriate personnel and follow safety protocol.
• Inspect alarm systems such as carbon monoxide and fire protection and quickly schedule repairs when needed.
• Preparation and control of property budgets and expenditure including CapEx.

About You

• Multi-skilled hands-on work history with strong communication skills.
• Good all-round skills with basic plumbing, electrical, air conditioning, carpentry and decoration.
• Self-driven and motivated with the ability to solve problems and make proactive decisions.
• Experience working on large-scale building services applications and building projects.
• Maintenance and repairs around the building.
• Completing PPMs around the facility.
• Ability to apply root cause analysis (RCA) to breakdowns.
• Small installation projects in properties as scheduled by management.

The Position

• This is a full-time position reporting to the Property Owner.
• 40 hours per week, but flexible and on call 24/7 in case of emergency.
• Excellent English.
• Full, clean driver’s license.
• Salary depending on experience, £40k - £45k.
