Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical Bias) - Manchester

Salary: £57,000 + Bonus, Pension, Healthcare

Shifts: 4 on/off (2 days/nights)

Are you an experienced, mechanically biased engineer looking for a role where you can make a real impact? Do you have experience of working in food or FMCG manufacturing?

About the Role

We’re working with a leading food manufacturing business who are looking for a Shift Engineer to join their site-based engineering team. You’ll be carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance, keeping production lines running smoothly and minimising downtime.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll be fault-finding, working with pneumatics and hydraulics, and supporting site-wide performance improvements.

You’ll play a key part in ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and helping to deliver the site’s engineering strategy.

About You
  • An apprentice trained, mechanically biased, engineer with experience of planned and reactive maintenance in a Food or FMCG manufacturing environment.
  • Strong fault-finding skills (PLCs, pneumatics, hydraulics).
  • Proactive and logical approach to problem solving.
  • A team player, able to work well with colleagues in engineering and operations/production.
