Overview

University Hospital of North Midlands NHS Trust invites applications for the Locum Consultant Neurologist posts, with a specialist interest desirable. You will join an established team of Consultant Neurologists delivering a General and Subspecialty Neurology service within the North Midlands and beyond.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team who provide general and subspecialist patient care at our Neurosciences Centre of Excellence. The Neurology outpatient and inpatient services are supported by a dedicated Neurology Ambulatory Care Unit (NACU) which provides day-case services and we also offer a video telemetry service, supported by our Neurophysiology Department.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicants will be expected to provide expert patient assessment in the diagnosis and management of all neurological conditions in both inpatient and outpatient settings. They will be required to actively engage in and develop Neurology services and to provide clinical leadership to others. A flexible approach will be required to working for our Trust, due to multiple site working. They will work collaboratively with colleagues to share skills to provide new ways of working across different professions, organisations i.e. community/primary care.

Qualifications
  • Clinical training and experience equivalent to that required for gaining entry on the General Medical Council (GMC) Specialist Register via one of the following: a.Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) (the proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of the interview) b.Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR) c.European Community Rights
