Job description

A warm and welcoming family in Victoria Park is seeking an experienced, nurturing, and proactive nanny to care for their baby boy. The role will begin part-time, with the intention that this arrangement will continue for some time before expanding to full-time, depending on family needs. The family values a child‑led, nurturing, and developmentally focused approach. They are looking for someone who brings emotional intelligence, positive energy, and a genuine interest in supporting early learning and exploration.

Key Requirements
  • Strong baby experience (4 months+) with a clear understanding of developmental milestones.
  • Paediatric First Aid qualification.
  • Demonstrated continued professional development – keeps up to date with childcare best practice, early years development, and modern approaches.
  • Physically fit and active – the home has three sets of stairs; the family is very outdoorsy and would like their son to have an active, nature‑rich childhood.
  • Able to swim and willing to take the baby to swimming lessons, joining in when needed.
  • Comfortable implementing a flexible rhythm rather than a rigid routine, supporting secure and predictable days.
  • Knowledge of age‑appropriate activities, sensory play, music, reading, and early stimulation.
  • Confident organising social opportunities, local groups, and engaging outings.
  • Open communicator and team player, working collaboratively with parents.
  • Happy to sign a contract including a non‑disclosure clause.
Role Overview
  • Provide attentive, loving care for an active baby in a supportive, developmentally rich environment.
  • Plan a stimulating daily rhythm with a balance of structure, exploration, and free play.
  • Organise outings, groups, and activities to encourage early socialisation.
  • Support early language exposure through songs, stories, and everyday interaction.
  • Take the baby to swimming lessons and participate when needed.
  • Assist with feeding, naps, and general daily care in line with the family's preferences.
  • Maintain a safe, calm, and engaging environment that encourages curiosity and independence.
Ideal Candidate
  • Emotionally intelligent – able to "read the room" and adapt to the family's needs and rhythms.
  • Flexible – comfortable transitioning between shared care and sole charge depending on mum's unpredictable business days (which can change last minute).
  • Warm, thoughtful, and developmentally minded, with a genuine passion for early childhood.
  • Active and outdoorsy, enjoying nature walks, park trips, and outdoor exploration.
  • Brings an additional language – Spanish preferred, but French or Mandarin also welcome, as the family values multilingual exposure for their son.
  • Creative and engaged, with a natural ability to plan meaningful, enriching activities.
  • Reliable, positive, and excited to grow with the family as the role evolves.
