Join Our Team as a Ledger Clerk

Gloucester, Brockworth Business Park, GL3 4AH

Up to £26,775 per annum

Full-Time | 40hrs per week | Mon-Fri 8:30am–5:00pm

Permanent | Hybrid working available after probation

Mears Group – a leading UK housing solutions provider – is looking for organised, detail-driven Ledger Clerks to join our buzzing Gloucester head office.

What You’ll Be Doing

Working as part of our energetic Accounts Payable team, you’ll keep things running smoothly and efficiently by:

  • Handling phone queries and managing shared inboxes
  • Processing rental, lease, and utility invoices
  • Inputting high volumes of data with speed and accuracy
  • Investigating billing queries and reconciling statements
  • Collaborating across departments
  • Supporting with ad-hoc finance admin tasks

All roles require entitlement to work within the UK; Mears does not currently offer visa sponsorship.

To drive a Mears vehicle, you must be aged over 21, have held your licence for over 3 months, and have less than 9 points.

Candidates should be aware that all roles are subject to relevant DBS/Security checks before commencement of employment.

Key Criteria

You don’t need to be a finance whiz – just someone who’s:

  • Experienced in admin or customer service in a fast-paced setting
  • Detail-focused with great data entry skills
  • Confident using IT systems, especially Excel
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to prioritise tasks
  • A strong communicator who can build great internal relationships
  • Flexible and adaptable with a can-do attitude
  • To perform additional duties as required

Experience in accounts or purchase ledger? That’s a bonus – but not essential!
