Job description
Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Registered Mental Health Nurse to join the Rehabilitation Team for a secondment or fixed term position for a period of 6 months.

Polmuir Road is a 10-bedded community setting that offers 24 hour inpatient care from a multi-disciplinary team. The rehab pathway is currently undergoing a review, making this an opportune time for staff to be involved in the future direction of the service.

The post holder will contribute to providing high quality, evidence-based care and support to patients who experience a diverse range of mental health issues within the rehabilitation service. As a pivotal member of a multi-disciplinary team, the post holder will work closely with the Community Rehabilitation Team, in-patient services, and RCH, and will gain a full overview of the service and the patient journey within the rehabilitation service.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high quality, evidence-based mental health care and support to patients in the rehabilitation service.
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team and collaborate with the Community Rehabilitation Team, in-patient services, and other relevant colleagues to ensure coordinated care.
  • Demonstrate good clinical judgement and robust risk assessment skills.
  • Support recovery-oriented practice and demonstrate openness to learning and developing new skills.
  • Coordinate with line management for application processes as required.
  • Engage with opportunities arising from the ongoing review of the rehab pathway to inform future service direction.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Registered Mental Health Nurse with current registration.
  • Strong clinical judgement and risk assessment abilities.
  • Commitment to recovery-oriented practice and ongoing professional development.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Support from Line Manager to apply is required.
