Job description

If you’re a field-based Key Account Leader who enjoys developing teams, exceeding customer expectations and supporting strategic business development this could be for you.

About the Role

We put our customers at the centre of what we do, and our Key Account teams are critical in making sure they see the full value of Safetykleen’s products and services.

As our Key Account Team Leader, you’ll lead, coach and develop a team of Key Account Managers managing a portfolio of strategic, multi‑site waste customers across the UK. You’ll split your time between supporting your team on customer visits, regular account reviews, and growth and retention planning.

You’ll make sure every account is managed rigorously: customers receive consistently high service, growth and retention opportunities are identified and converted, and risks are spotted and mitigated early through strong contract and pipeline management.

About Us

At Safetykleen, we provide essential parts cleaning, waste collection and environmental advisory services that help customers reduce their environmental footprint and boost operational performance.

With operations in 16 countries and over 1 million services delivered each year, you’ll be joining a stable, growing business with a fast‑paced, high‑impact and agile environment, where sustainability and long‑term customer partnerships are at the heart of what we do.

About You

You’re an experienced account management or sales leader who enjoys being out on the road, developing people and spending time with customers. You’re motivated by retaining and growing key accounts, and you’re just as comfortable in a customer review or contract negotiation as you are coaching your team on sales skills, growth mindset and personal development.

  • Proven experience in senior customer account management and / or sales, with a strong track record of retention and growth.
  • Experience leading or managing a field‑based team, with a coaching‑led style – you develop people, not just manage activity.
  • Experienced in Recycling / Waste or service led industries preferred.
  • Confident managing pipelines, KPIs and forecasting, with strong communication and influencing skills and a valid driving licence for regular national travel.
What we offer
  • Salary £55,000 base salary £70,000 realistic OTE
  • £5,200 per annum car allowance
  • 25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays.
  • 5% Contributory Pension scheme.
  • Family Life assurance of 3 times life cover salary.
  • Private healthcare scheme from day 1.
  • Enhanced maternity and paternity pay.
  • Corporate discount scheme focused on your wellbeing, including discounted Virgin Active Gym membership - and Gymflex.
  • Taste Card Membership discount.
  • Discount and cashback at many retailers.
  • Cycle to work scheme.
  • Employee Assistance Program with 24 / 7 confidential helpline support for employees
  • Employee recognition program
  • Employee referral scheme.
  • We provide support and access to a range of internal and external courses to help and progress your career with us.

You don’t need to meet every single requirement to be considered. If this role appeals to you and you have most of the experience listed, we encourage you to apply – attitude, curiosity and a commitment to doing the right thing for our people and customers matter most.
