Overview

Junior Digital Support Technician – Asset Management

Give IT support where it really makes a difference. Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) is the largest acute trust in the UK, with over 25,000 staff caring for more than a million patients a year. We operate across 10 hospitals and community services in Greater Manchester, delivering patient care and services with ambitious digital transformation plans.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in the delivery of an efficient, responsive, effective and customer-focused IT support service.
  • Provide IT technical support in line with corporate Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Support the Trust’s digital infrastructure by assisting with the management, tracking, and lifecycle maintenance of IT assets.
  • Assist the Asset and Procurement Team in maintaining a robust Configuration Management Database (CMDB).
  • Coordinate asset deliveries and installations and ensure compliance with procurement and financial policies.
  • Log and resolve incidents and service requests, support hardware and software deployments, and maintain accurate asset records.
  • Collaborate with Digital Support Technicians, Application Support teams, and external suppliers; work with a proactive, customer-focused approach to service delivery.
  • Be willing to travel across Trust sites and participate in out-of-hours support when required.
Qualifications and required attributes
  • Foundational understanding of IT infrastructure support.
  • Strong communication skills and a commitment to continuous improvement in digital operations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners.

The role sits within the Digital Services Directorate under the Technology – Digital Operations department, and you will assist the Asset and Procurement Team in maintaining asset records and ensuring compliance with policies.
