The National Security Strategic Investment Fund (NSSIF) is the UK Government's corporate venturing arm for pioneering dual-use technologies. Its mission is to ensure the UK national security and defence community can access and adopt innovative technology at pace and scale, delivering strategic advantage and protecting the UK's security and prosperity. NSSIF's investments are overseen by the Department of Science Innovation and Technology (DSIT).
In this role, you will drive long-term national security impact by shaping and delivering NSSIF's investment strategy, leading investment activities including direct and fund-of-funds investments, technology scouting, market ecosystem development, and scaling the fund from GBP 20m to up to GBP 100m annually.

The role involves managing investments mostly in early-stage and growth-stage startups, primarily in the UK, with some overseas investments aligned with Mission objectives. You will be responsible for expanding NSSIF's investment capabilities and team to manage dozens of investments annually.
The NSSIF team comprises members from NS&D, DSIT, and the British Business Bank, all committed to Mission and impact delivery. Investment themes include Quantum, Semiconductors & Advanced Compute; Space, Satellites & Future Communications; AI and Data; and Emerging Technologies including engineering biology.
