Job description
Overview

We are recruiting for a national charity that provides rehabilitation services at a number of sites across the UK. We are seeking an Employee Relations Manager for a fixed-term contract to cover a period of maternity leave. This role is primarily home-based with occasional travel to other sites across the UK, particularly York.

Responsibilities
  • Leading on ER for the organisation, working with an ER advisor, to ensure that excellent ER case management support is delivered across the organisation.
  • Leading the rollout of the Employment Rights Bill, ensuring our policies and procedures evolve with new legislation.
  • Driving a cultural shift towards early intervention and positive resolution, reducing formal processes.
  • Coaching and empowering managers to handle ER matters confidently and effectively.
  • Collaborating across teams to deliver impactful ER training, guidance, and support.
  • Managing complex and high-risk ER cases, including tribunal preparation and strategic advice.
  • Supporting organisational change projects including restructures, redundancies, and TUPE.
  • Developing all ER policies to ensure they are legally compliant, forward-thinking, and aligned with best practice and strategic objectives.
  • Reporting on case volumes, case status and trends via various reports and updating People & OD Business Partners on cases within their regions.
Requirements / Qualifications
  • A degree or equivalent qualification (CIPD Level 7 or working towards).
  • Proven experience leading an ER team and managing complex casework.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practice.
  • A pragmatic, solutions-focused approach to risk and resolution.
