We are seeking an Interim Assistant Director of Finance to join an evolving Local Authority for a 6 to 9-month assignment. In this role, you will work closely with the Director of Finance to ensure key organizational deliverables are met.

Key responsibilities include:

• Overseeing corporate, strategic, and technical finance functions to shape the direction of the local authority and drive service reform and improvement projects.
• Providing strategic direction for the council's finances, including the production of the medium-term financial strategy.
• Leading the delivery of statutory accounts and audits.
• Engaging with stakeholders, governance, and fostering cross-functional collaboration.

Required skills:

• Proven track record of delivering at this level within a Local Authority setting.
