Main duties of the job

As an Infrastructure Engineer you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for the support, maintenance and development of the Trust's network and telephony infrastructure. You will maintain and troubleshoot the Digital Services Infrastructure to enable maximum system availability and investigate and demonstrate the use of new technologies to support and improve ways of working across the organisation. The post holder will be expected to participate in the Digital Services Out of Hours On-Call emergency service.

The Infrastructure Engineer role combines innovation and support. The role focuses on maximising system uptime while providing users with access to the latest technologies to enhance roles and maximise resources across the trust. Responsibilities include the configuration, documentation, support, maintenance and development of the Trust's server, network and telephony infrastructure. Knowledge and Experience

Essential

• Must be educated to degree level or equivalent experience
• At least 3 years' experience in a Digital Services environment, providing advanced technical support for Microsoft Windows technologies
• Knowledge in the design, installation and configuration of complex, multi-site data networks, including ethernet and fibre optic LAN cabling, switching hardware used to connect computers and peripherals
• Excellent ability to work with a diverse range of technical operating systems and applications
• Knowledge of Cloud Environments including Office365 and Azure

Desirable

• Evidence of continuing professional development
• Experience managing WAN/LAN rollout including Wireless and Telephony on new/renovated premises
• Knowledge and experience of Infrastructure Virtualisation
• Experience of Cisco Internetwork Operating System for configuration of associated products
