Industrial Assembly Engineer - Airbus Broughton

Location: Broughton (onsite requirement)

Hours: Standard 35 hours per week (4.5 days, between 7am - 7pm, hours agreed at business discretion)

Pay: Up to £27.68 per hour (PAYE) or Up to £37.02 per hour (umbrella)

Security Clearance: BPSS+ (completed by Airbus Security)

IR35: Inside

About the Role

Join Airbus Broughton as an Industrial Assembly Engineer and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of aircraft wing manufacturing. You'll be part of a dynamic Assembly Technologies team, driving innovation and continuous improvement in drilling and fastening processes. This is an excellent opportunity to work on cutting‑edge technology projects, collaborate with diverse teams, and make a real impact on the plant's success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deploy and support semi-automated and manual drilling & fastening equipment
  • Define new equipment and develop advanced assembly processes
  • Project manage and provide technical support for existing machinery
  • Lead and implement continuous improvement initiatives in wing manufacturing
  • Collaborate with internal customers, support functions, and external suppliers
  • Deliver projects and support related to semi-automated and manual equipment (ADU & ABE)
  • Develop, document, and champion productivity improvements across ME communities
  • Manage Continuous Improvement and EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) projects
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing operations

Oversee major capital investment projects, leading multi-functional teams to deliver on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

  • Strong technical background in shop floor processes, ideally drilling or fastening
  • Good understanding of the wing build process and manufacturing environments
  • Analytical thinker with excellent problem‑solving skills
  • Effective communicator, able to work cross‑functionally and build strong relationships
  • Well‑organised, detail‑oriented, and proactive team player
  • Stakeholder management and multitasking abilities
  • Degree‑level qualification (or equivalent) in Engineering is desirable
  • Fluent English (commercial and technical)
  • Familiarity with Google office‑based applications (Sheets, Slides, Gmail, etc.)
