Type of Contract: Permanent from 1st January 2026. Hours: 35 per week. Term Time only (including insets) + 1 week. Grade: D. Salary: Actual Salary £23,053 – £25,363 (FTE £27,780 – £30,564). Closing Date: 08.10.2025.

As part of a thriving federation with Pinewood Infant School, we offer exciting collaborative opportunities across all stages.

Role

The Federation are looking for a skilled and experienced HLTA to join our team. The post will provide support and learning for children in the resourced provision for children with SLCN (Speech, Language and Communication Needs). The successful candidate will be able to ensure that our children are supported in their education within the RP classroom, mainstream classes and through specific small group and 1:1 provision. As an employee of Guillemont, staff need to be flexible as we move around the school.

Responsibilities
  • Be trained to NVQ3 standard for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant subject.
  • Meet the Higher Level Teaching Assistant Standards.
  • Demonstrate excellent literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE Grades A-C in Maths & English).
  • Implement learning activities based on working knowledge of the national curriculum using relevant programmes and strategies that have been adapted to meet the child’s needs.
  • Have at least 2 years’ relevant experience in a teaching environment.
  • Have well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships with a variety of people.

  • Are motivated to support and help the learning of children with additional needs.
  • Can be professionally discreet and respect confidentiality.
