Job summary

A dynamic healthcare provider in Warrington is seeking a permanent part-time Higher Level Care Support Worker to join their children's A&E team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 12 months care experience, preferably in an acute or paediatric setting, and possess effective communication skills. Responsibilities include conducting vital checks and collaborating closely with registered nurses. A competitive salary of £24,937 to £26,598 pro rata is offered.

They will also be a team player and who is ready to lean new skills and take on new challenges to support the team and the delivery of effective, timely care.

Main duties of the job
  • Conduct height, weight and vital signs
  • Work closely with the Registered nurse to deliver, monitor and evaluate care.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families and members of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Use your skills and knowledge to escalate concerns or manage risk
  • Work together with others - offering support as able.
  • Develop a range of additional skills to support the delivery of safe and effective care in line Band 3 CSW expectations.

Job responsibilities

Senior Health Care Assistance will be responsible for providing a range of personal care for patients and a range of clinical duties under the guidance of a registered healthcare professional. Senior Health Care Assistance work independently performing a number of clinical duties/tasks following training and meeting competency within role as per policy and procedure

Person Specification
Experience
  • A minimum of 12 months previous care experience.
  • Experience working within an acute care setting.
  • Experience working in paediatric settings
Qualifications
  • Able to communicate effectively and with confidence.
  • Understands how to overcome barriers to effective communication and applies these to practice.
  • Evidence of continued professional development.
  • Completion of Care Certificate or NVQ2 in care
Skills, knowledge and competencies
  • Confident in understanding the role of a Care Support worker.
  • Understands the importance of individuality, dignity, autonomy, independence, choice and respect and can consistently apply these principles to practice.
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of the team.
  • Consistently demonstrates professional attitudes, values and behaviours within the workplace.
  • Willingness to learn and develop self and others.
  • Trained and competent in the delivery of some band 3 skills.
  • Previous experience training new staff.
