Your training as a Healthcare Assistant will include basic nursing and therapy skills and we\'ll support you to achieve the Care Certificate. With experience and further training, you could further your career in health care opening opportunities to train as an Assistant Practitioner or Nursing Associate. With the appropriate qualifications and experience, you could also go on to train as one of the many degree-level healthcare professionals such as a Nurse, Podiatrist, Midwife or Therapist. There are so many opportunities to progress with us! Please note: Due to recent changes in UK immigration and visa rules, this role is unlikely to be eligible for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship. Overview

Main duties of the job

  1. Our Intermediate Care Unit at Arundel Hospital supports inpatients with short-term recovery and rehabilitation. We aim to provide a service that supports patients to live independently and return home when it is safe for them to do so.
  2. To work effectively as a team member in providing and facilitating a high standard of nursing, social and rehabilitative support in the clinical setting.
  3. Under the direction of a qualified practitioner, participate in planned treatment activities taking account of the fluctuating needs of the patient.
  4. To report variances in a patient\'s condition immediately to a relevant professional.
  5. To maintain standards of cleanliness of ward environment and patient bed area.
  6. To undertake nursing tasks under the direction of a qualified practitioner i.e, catheter care.
