What You Will Do
  • Deliver the Healthy Child Programme, including antenatal contact, new birth visits, and key developmental reviews.
  • Provide evidence-based guidance on infant feeding, weaning, sleep, speech and language development, and parenting.
  • Identify health needs early, offer appropriate interventions, and refer to specialist services where necessary.
  • Support families to access local community resources and encourage healthy lifestyle choices.
  • Identify children at risk, contribute to safeguarding plans, and attend case conferences when required.
  • Manage a defined caseload, prioritising based on risk and need.
  • Work with vulnerable families to provide essential support and improve outcomes.
  • Collaborate closely with GPs, midwives, and other health professionals to ensure seamless care.
  • Maintain professional standards, engage in CPD, and uphold the NMC Code of Conduct.
  • Mentor students and junior staff, helping to develop the next generation of public health nurses.
