Information at a Glance

Specialized in civil engineering and engineering structures, Bouygues Travaux Publics is one of the world leaders in the fields of land use planning and sustainable infrastructure construction. Bouygues Travaux Publics is committed to diversity and is open to all talents.

We are looking for an experienced Health and Safety Manager to join our team delivering one of the UK's most vital infrastructure programmes - Sizewell C.

As part of the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), you'll play a key leadership role in ensuring we deliver the highest standards of health, safety, and wellbeing across the Enabling and Earthworks stream of the Sizewell C project. This is a once-in-a-generation programme that will supply low-carbon electricity to 6 million homes for the next 60 years - and your expertise will be critical to its safe and successful delivery.

In this role, you'll lead a team of dedicated HSW professionals, working closely with the wider project and operational teams to embed a positive safety culture and ensure legal, regulatory, and CWA standards are met at every stage - from pre-construction through to completion.

You'll also support the HSW Director in providing insight, assurance, and tactical guidance across a fast-moving, highly regulated environment. The ability to lead incident investigations, manage stakeholder engagement, and translate data into clear, actionable insight will be key to success in this position.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the delivery of HSW strategy across your workstream, with a strong focus on proactive risk management and behavioural safety
  • Managing and mentoring your HSW team, overseeing performance and supporting professional development
  • Coordinating incident investigations and reporting in line with CWA and project governance
  • Engaging closely with delivery teams, contractors, regulators and other stakeholders to drive compliance and continuous improvement
  • Supporting training, coaching and awareness initiatives across the project, including nuclear safety culture and Zero Harm objectives
  • Reviewing safety documentation and supporting work planning activities to ensure risks are fully understood and managed
  • Representing the CWA in internal and external forums, and contributing to group-wide learning and development

What we are looking for:

You'll be a confident and collaborative health and safety professional, ideally Chartered (or working towards) through IOSH, with a NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent Level 6 qualification. You'll bring a depth of experience from major infrastructure or construction projects, and be ready to lead by example - engaging with teams on the ground, building trust across disciplines, and supporting others to succeed.

You'll also be a strong communicator, capable of influencing at all levels and helping us continuously raise the bar for safety performance across the programme.

Location: Suffolk (Sizewell C site)

As part of a delivery organisation combining the strengths of Balfour Beatty, Bouygues Travaux Publics and Laing O'Rourke, this is a unique opportunity to be part of something that will define the UK's energy future.
