Job description
Overview

Carbon60 is currently looking for a Health and Safety Manager to join a client of ours based in Broughton. This role is a contract role until October 2026 and will likely be extended.

As the Health and Safety Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the local FMRE (Facilities Management, Real Estate) team to implement appropriate risk controls and maintain compliance across the company's activities and service providers. This will involve conducting inspections, reviewing safety management systems, and providing expert advice on strategic projects.

Contract details: Inside IR35. Rates: Up to £29.89 per hour PAYE depending on experience; Up to £40.00 per hour depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with requirements for the introduction of new plant, equipment, and ongoing maintenance
  • Review the safety management systems of prospective FMRE contractors through the pre-qualification process
  • Conduct EHS-related inspections on internal operations and activities carried out by service providers
  • Provide competent environment, health, and safety advice for a wide range of strategic projects
  • Implement processes and complete compliance audits to ensure adherence to relevant legal requirements
  • Investigate work-related incidents and environmental incidents, and ensure remedial actions are implemented
Qualifications
  • NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (or equivalent) or higher
  • Experience reporting to and working with key stakeholders to implement safety-related projects
  • Strong understanding of practical application of health and safety standards
  • Proactive attitude towards continuous professional development
