Job description
Haematology Daycare Administration Supervisor

An exciting opportunity has risen in the Clinical Haematology Directorate for a Daycare Supervisor. The post holder will be supervising a busy daycare team in the Catherine Lewis Centre, responsible for co-coordinating chemo-therapies and hematological treatments and thus will be required to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team alongside consultants, nurses and the wider team.

The post holder will work closely with relevant team members to ensure pathway pathway are coordinated effectively, booked into appropriate treatment lists and that a high quality customer service is provided.

The successful candidate will be highly motivated and organised with an ability to prioritise and problem solve in a busy working environment. Communication is key for this role and it will be expected that the post holder can demonstrate the ability to communicate with patients and staff across all disciplines. The successful candidate should have knowledge of RTT and cancer waiting times.

Main duties of the job
  • Implement and maintain an efficient internal system and process to ensure daycare targets are met.
  • Co-ordinate and provide administrative support to the relevant teams to ensure that all the relevant paperwork and clinical information is available.
  • Resolving patient queries over the telephone, by email and in person on a daily basis, communicating tactfully and professionally.
  • Providing administrative support to the wider multidisciplinary team, including medical, nursing and administrative colleagues.
  • Work closely with the Business Support Manager to adhere to daycare KPI targets.
  • Attend and manage internal list and capacity review meetings.
