Overview

Goods Inwards Inspector – Motherwell

Mon-Thurs, 7am-4:15pm (35-hour week). Permanent.

Responsibilities
  • Inspecting and approving components and materials from suppliers - including 1st-off samples
  • Performing dimensional checks using tools like micrometers, verniers, calipers, depth gauges, surface measuring tools, and CMM equipment
  • Identifying quality issues and leading the process through to resolution - ownership matters
  • Evaluating warranty returns and working cross-functionally with engineers to reach technical conclusions
  • Recording issues, data and actions using systems like SAP, Q-Pulse, and Excel
  • Supporting new product introductions and continuous improvement initiatives across the quality function
Experience required
  • A strong personality with the confidence to challenge, ask questions, and investigate root causes
  • Previous inspection experience in automotive, oil & gas, construction equipment, marine, precision or assembly (or similar) industries
  • Solid knowledge of engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Experience using CMM machines, measurement tools, and digital platforms such as Power BI, SAP, or Q-Pulse
  • Someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, takes initiative, and can juggle multiple tasks at once
