Investment Strategy Group (ISG) – Asset & Wealth Management

The Investment Strategy Group (ISG) within the Asset & Wealth Management Division of Goldman Sachs provides customized asset allocation solutions to help clients preserve and grow their wealth.

Responsibilities
  • Develop customized asset allocation solutions and analysis for clients.
  • Collaborate with the team and private wealth advisors to gather client information and analyze portfolios.
  • Produce customized asset allocation solutions and prepare analysis for presentations.
  • Assist with research on asset allocation models and individual asset classes.
  • Provide asset allocation guidance to the Private Wealth Management team.
  • Maintain presentations, data, meeting records, and other general business duties.
Basic Qualifications
  • Strong communication skills, especially the ability to explain complex technical concepts in simple terms.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a passion to engage with clients.
  • Attention to detail, patience, and ability to multi‑task under pressure.
  • Collaborative, teamwork oriented, and able to follow instructions and execute with good judgement.
  • Independent, logical, and critical thinking with a willingness to think outside the box.
  • Exceptional quantitative and analytical skills with a minimum undergraduate degree in a STEM subject or quantitative field (e.g., Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics, Machine Learning, or Computer Science). An undergraduate Economics degree combined with a quantitative postgraduate degree in Finance is also acceptable.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages (Python preferable) and solid Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced high‑stress environment.
  • Highly motivated and eager to learn.
Preferred Qualifications / Skills
  • Master(s) in Finance with a quantitative focus (financial mathematics, quantitative finance, financial engineering, financial econometrics, etc.).
  • Keen interest in the financial market and good investment sense.
  • Knowledge of current academic research and industry practices.
  • Proficiency in other European language(s) would be an advantage.
