Overview

A leading law firm is seeking a motivated and reliable General Office Assistant to join its dynamic Operations team in Exeter. This full-time, permanent position offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in a professional legal environment while supporting the firm’s busy Operations department. The role is 100% office-based.

The Role

As a General Office Assistant, you will be responsible for a wide range of administrative and operational tasks, including:

  • Opening and distributing post each morning, and managing afternoon post collection, sorting, and franking.
  • Organising couriers and ensuring special delivery deadlines are met.
  • Delivering local packages and handling high-volume scanning, photocopying, and printing.
  • Managing stationery orders and assisting with file archiving and retrieval.
  • Providing reception cover when required and replenishing catering supplies in staff kitchens.
  • Supporting the wider Operations team with other administrative duties as needed.
The Candidate

The ideal candidate will bring strong customer service experience, with prior administrative experience. You will be hardworking, reliable, and demonstrate commitment to developing your career for the long term.

  • Ability to prioritise tasks effectively and work to deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A proactive, positive, and flexible approach.
  • Good organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel (desirable).
Apprenticeship Opportunity

An apprenticeship course may be available for the successful candidate, subject to eligibility. Options include Business Administration or Legal Business Administration (15-month duration).
