General Cover Teacher – SEMH School, Basingstoke

Full-time contract – ASAP start!

Academics is recruiting on behalf of a secondary school in Basingstoke to appoint a passionate and empathetic General Cover Teacher to join the school ASAP on a full-time, ongoing contract.

They are a secondary SEMH provision catering for pupils aged 10–16 with social, emotional and mental health needs, and other complex needs such as autism. Due to the needs of the students, class sizes are small, enabling you to meet their individual learning and emotional needs.

The newly improved school sets very high expectations for students and works exceptionally hard with a dedicated and inspiring staff team to provide a learning environment that enables students to thrive. The school has great facilities including a brand‑new IT computer suite, a state‑of‑the‑art fitness/gym facility, and a new school library.

The suitable General Cover Teacher will be emotionally intelligent, empathetic, and highly motivated. You must be able to deliver exciting and engaging lessons that develop learners' knowledge and skills, from KS2 to KS4. You will ideally have experience teaching in an SEN/SEMH school, although this role is open to all. You must have QTS.
