We are recruiting to several casual positions for Food Service Assistants within Housing with Care. We provide a hot lunch time meal to our clients on a daily basis. Your role will include providing a welcoming and responsive environment to ensure tenants feel safe and valued. All positions are casual and working hours are between 9.30am – 3.00pm; we offer a 7-day service.
You will require good oral and written skills in communicating with a variety of people. You will be required to work alone and prioritise your workload and to prepare, cook and present meals for a diverse client group.
This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
The ideal candidate will have some experience of working in a catering environment, have some knowledge of Health and Safety practices, and have the ability to carry out lifting and carrying duties. You must also have, or train towards, Basic Food Safety Level 2 certificate and be willing to undertake any other training applicable to this role. Flexibility to carry out the duties of the role, along with reliability is essential.
